Roberta Janssen

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Roberta retired from the State of Oregon as a Human Resource Program Manager and retired as a Colonel from the Oregon Army National Guard.  She then took a part time position as the Executive Director for the Oregon National Guard Association which allowed her time to become a Certified Long Term Care Ombudsman for Washington County. She saw this volunteer work as an opportunity to have another set of eyes on what is happening in long-term care facilities.  It also allows her first-hand knowledge of how residents are cared for and ensure they are treated with dignity.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington and the Board of Directors for the Oregon National Guard Association.  While volunteering in other areas, she sees her work with seniors in LTC facilities as a way to improve the quality of services they receive and maintain their rights as Oregon citizens.
