Diana Allen

WILLAMETTE VALLEY

Diana Allen spent her entire professional life in the field of special education. Early on in her career she was the program administrator for infants and toddlers, first with Benton County Mental Health and later through Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District (LBL ESD).  Diana also worked for the Oregon Department of Education as the Director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Programs and Director of Regional Programs for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities. She finished her career as the program administrator for students with severe disabilities at LBL ESD. Diana never imagined that upon retirement she would develop a passion for working with and for people living in long-term care communities. As soon as she retired, Diana immediately completed the training to become a Certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman. She has a special interest in advocating for the quality of life and care of residents experiencingAlzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Diana also volunteers for the Red Cross and serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Council for Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, in Corvallis.
